“Escorting quest” is a new feature in Final Closed-beta phase. Escort Captain in Cloud City (location 92, 242) gives escorting quests. This quest requires you to escort a wagon to a certain destination in 24 hours. Players above level 30 can take 5 escorting quests every day.
To take a wagon away, you have to leave some golds and renown points as the guaranty. The guaranty is gone if the quest fails (timeout or wagon get robbed), and escorts can’t form a team while escorting nor using any teleporting measure, so get well-prepared before taking this quest!
If it’s your first time doing this quest, you can try exercise wagon, whose guaranty is only 1000 golds and 10 renown points, and the destination is very close to Cloud City. Exercise wagon can only be taken once for every character.
After you take the quest, there’ll appear a sign near your character avatar, as below:
Move your mouse onto the sign to check for details about the destination and remaining time.
You’ll encounter with normal mobs outside the cities and villages when you’re escorting. Mind the HP of the wagon, if it goes down to zero, the wagon is broken and quest fails.
After the exercise, you can try formal wagons in correspondence with your level.
Hijacking!
Moreover, you may meet with players who want to hijack you! The hijacker can right click an escort and choose “Hijack” in the menu to start a battle. Hijackers can only hijack an escort whose level is within ±5 of his level.
If a hijacker knocks your wagon out, he takes the wagon away (hijackers don’t have to defeat the escorts, they just need to knock the wagons out). After the battle ends, the succeeded hijacker’s look will change into a robber. The hijacker can continue escorting the wagon to its destination and get half of the bonus, while the original escort loses all guaranty and can never get the wagon back. A wagon can only be successfully hijacked once.
Want to be a fearless brave or a sinister hijacker? That’s up to you. But whatever you choose to be, you should make sure if you’re able to be!
